Space Between the Notes: Movement in Music

Many students struggle to develop a strong internal sense of rhythm. We will examine the use of Laban movement efforts – flow, weight, time and space – to address this issue and increase musicality.
Josina Leder-Sear is a piano teacher from Edmonton, Alberta. She holds a Bachelor of Music, University Diploma in Church Music, Performer’s Certificate, and a Graduate Certificate in Injury Preventive Keyboard Technique. She believes that music lessons should be joyful, exploration-based, and grounded in research.
