Welcome

The CFMTA was formed in 1935 and is a federation of provincial music teachers associations and their members. Our purpose is to strengthen the work of provincial registered music teacher associations through collaboration, resulting in the promotion and maintenance of high standards of teaching among our members and fostering music excellence in our students.

The CFMTA, in cooperation with the provincial bodies, offers it's members:

  • biennial national conventions
  • high quality workshops
  • performance opportunities for students
  • scholarships and awards for students and teachers
  • a comprehensive journal, The Canadian Music Teacher, published three times a year
  • contact with other arts organizations
  • unified voice for CFMTA members

Membership

Membership is offered through the provincial associations.
